Alabama Bigfoot Sighting With Interactive Map
Bigfoot Accounts in Alabama with Geocoded Interactive Pin Map
Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti, Abominable Snowman, etc. are all names given to describe some being or group of beings said to inhabit remote areas of North America. Although descriptions, locations and accounts differ somewhat, most seem to share the common theme of as a large, hairy, muscular, bipedal man/ape-like creature between 6 and 9 feet tall covered in hair described as black, dark brown, or auburn.
Legends and accounts predate the names. Historically, many cultures have accounts of giant larger-than-life, man-like creatures. Most names are more description than name, along the lines of "wild man" or "hairy man", although other names described common actions said to have been witnessed, perform, such as “clam eater” or “tree shaker”. Evidence of Bigfoot's existence is based on many personal accounts made with short videos, photos, sightings, large footprints left clearly in the soil, etc. Enormous footprints have been found in the areas of these accounts, some measuring as large as 24 inches long and 8 inches wide, hence the name "Bigfoot".
Less-menacing versions of Bigfoot have been recorded. One such recorded story comes from a tribe of Native Americans from the Washington State area, claiming their sharing small portions of their salmon net captures with beings who in turn would bring them good luck. Some Native American accounts of Bigfoot, or Sasquatch tell of them as being akin to a spiritual blessing to see and explain that they favor Native Americans as opposed to what they would consider offensive European/White-Man. These Native American accounts and suggest therefore White-Man rarely sees them. These same Native Americans took offense when it was suggested these stories were just superstitions or legends. The claim these beings to be as real as any other woodland creatures.
Most sightings or claims of Bigfoot, Sasquatch come from areas of Northwest USA and Canada, but claims and recorded sightings have been made as far south and east as Florida. Bigfoot has become better known today within popular culture and few believe such a creature could escape capture in our modern world. However, there are many who have seen something that escapes explanation, and this phenomenon keeps the possibility alive in the imaginations of millions of people to this day.
In 2007, the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) put forward some photos which they claimed showed a juvenile. While this claim was never authenticated, it was also never debunked. Other similar accounts and evidence have provided similar “unsubstantiated and indefinite results”. While it is true that believers and non-believers agree many reported sightings are hoaxes or misidentified animals, data collecting continues driven by a deep curiosity of what may become a spectacular validation of some alternate species of man existing here with us. Some advocates believe they might be a species scientifically know as Gigantopithecus. Fossils of Gigantopithecus have been found in Asia and it is well theorized that many species of animals migrated across a land/ice bridge across the Bearing Straights. This theory suggests Gigantopithecus/Bigfoot/Sasquatch might have done so, as well. Is it possible that Bigfoot beings could be the remaining survivors of this ancient form of ape-man relative? No one knows for certain, but the accounts of these people in Alabama certainly appear to be sincere and it is left to your imagination to conclude if Bigfoot/Sasquatch shares our world today.
